Readers Group

Readers group update.

Many thanks to those members who have shown an interest in forming a Readers Group.

Central Library has very kindly offered us the room which all their Readers Groups use and we are now ready to go ahead and start our own.

The first meeting will be on Thursday 29^th May, and the timing of future meetings can be decided then. The room we have been offered is very comfortable and there are facilities for making hot drinks.

Before we meet it would be useful to give some thought as to how we might draw up our first list of selections. Maybe, to start us off, we could each simply choose one book which we think the others would enjoy.

I’m sure that with our membership the Readers Group is certain to be enjoyable and entertaining and there will be time before the first meeting to talk through any questions you may have. In the meantime start thinking about any book you would like to recommend.

Update to meetings page…

There have been a few updates to the meetings page to let you all know of the details of the busy Thursday we have ahead of us this week.

Also just to let you all know there is now an Introduce Yourself message board on the Discussion Forum. Please show your support and sign up and let people know how you came to find the group and any other information you wish to share about yourself.

Thanks and an update!

Firstly a huge THANK YOU to all those who have given some great feedback on the site! Much appreciated!!

I have started to develop a new FORUM page so that those who want to start discussions or post any information on anything can do so. I add a link to the right hand navigation menu as well as making a link on the front page.

When you go to the forum you will have to register as a new member before you can post anything but this will only take a matter of minutes. Then you can start posting topics of conversation and replying to anything that anyone else has said.

If you have any questions or problems send an email to the group email address found on the contact us page, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Changes to the site….

I’ve had a play about and changed a few of the layouts to the page structure for what I feel is the better…..

So we now have a page set aside especially for all of the years of our Manchester pride involvement past and future….

Also there is now a Walks and Days out page with info and photos from the recent Bradford trip and our famous Teddy Bears Picnics, and all day trips to come and past will be added here over the next few weeks. This is separated with handy links to jump down to the correct section of the page for whatever event you are after, and a handy link is there so you can jump back up to the top of the page to the list again. This goes for the Manchester pride page too.

The previous projects section is now set aside for the MAJOR projects that have happened, eg. An Evening With and The Manchester Art Project…

More information on past days out and the previous projects will be here soon, as will an updated list of the group meetings to come.

Welcome !!!

A very warm welcome to the website of our Manchester group, OUT IN THE CITY ! There is not a lot on at the moment but we are working very quickly on getting it up and running to give all our members and possible new members the information on who we are and what we get upto !

So please be patient and over the coming weeks you will see things all fall into place……….I hope !
